About
It all begins with an idea.
Self Betterment Club began with a simple idea: a student-led effort to support men’s mental health at my school. It was a response to the emotional struggles and pressures faced by young men. As the club grew, it became clear that the need for supportive, purpose-driven spaces reaches far beyond just one group or campus.
I realized that self-betterment isn’t a one-dimensional journey. True growth requires attention to the mind, the body, and the real-world skills that don't really get taught. That’s why Self Betterment Club was born, a movement to empower everyone through emotional intelligence, personal fitness, and financial literacy.
Whether you're looking to feel stronger emotionally, learn to manage your money, or build healthier habits, SBC is here to guide that journey, with real leadership, real events, real impact, and a real community.
Values:
Growth: We believe in always improving—learning new skills, embracing feedback, and becoming stronger in all aspects of life.
Discipline: We stay consistent with our habits, goals, and responsibilities. Self-betterment is built on discipline.
Responsibility: We take ownership of our goals, our time, and our impact on others.
Resilience: We bounce back from setbacks stronger and more determined, using challenges as opportunities to grow
Empathy: We listen, support, and lead with compassion creating a space where everyone is seen, heard, and valued.
Courage: We take action even when it's uncomfortable, whether it's trying something new, expressing ourselves, or leading with vulnerability.
Integrity: We act with integrity: choosing honesty, responsibility, and respect as we grow into the person we aim to become, even when that means adjusting our habits or goals.
Inclusivity: We embrace diversity and actively work to create spaces where everyone feels welcome and empowered.
Community: We rise by lifting others. Self-betterment is never solo; it’s about helping everyone grow together.
Our Structure and Vision:
Self Betterment Club is legally structured as a Public Benefit Corporation, allowing us to scale responsibly while staying rooted in our mission: building stronger, healthier, more capable young leaders.
Outside of schools, SBC hosts citywide events that bring students from different chapters together. These experiences include workshops, service projects, wellness meetups, and speaker events, giving members the opportunity to connect, grow, and lead beyond their own campuses.
Looking ahead, we are planning multi-city gatherings that unite chapters from across their regions. These larger events will focus on leadership development, peer connection, and collective growth. Participants will explore topics like financial literacy, physical wellness, and emotional intelligence on a broader and deeper level, expanding the reach and impact of the Self Betterment mission.
